Dr Wendy Cheung

Dr Wendy Cheung is a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Paediatric Dentistry at the Adelaide Dental School. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (2000), Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry, and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) (2008) from the University of Adelaide. Dr Wendy has served as an examiner for the Australian Dental Council (ADC) and remains active in their examination processes. She was the Secretary of the South Australian branch of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry for many years, a reviewer for peer-reviewed public health and dental journals, and a former Paediatric Dentistry Consultant at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital.

Dr Wendy has been involved in clinical teaching and lecturing since 2001, with research contributions at the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (ARCPOH). She continued clinical work at SA Dental Service and the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital, along with private work for many years. With a strong interest in working with neurodivergent and special needs children, she has received the ADAF Wrigley Grant in 2013, 2014, and 2015 for research on improving oral health care for autistic children and children with special needs. Her research interests also include dental trauma, emergency care in paediatric dentistry, dental materials, dental anxiety, and communication. Dr. Cheung is currently undertaking Advanced Training in Clinical Hypnosis to provide holistic care to all her patients.
